Careprost for glaucoma: medicinal drops for vision correction

Beauty and health of eyelashes is the dream of every modern woman. There are many different means, procedures and devices that help the fair sex improve. But not all of them are safe for the body, and some are quite expensive. In addition, procedures in salons require a lot of time, and finding a really good specialist is sometimes difficult. Careprost will help you achieve a wonderful effect while sitting on the couch for the growth and restoration of eyelashes.

What are the features of Careprost eyelash growth product?

Careprost is a drug that has properties that stimulate eyelash growth. The product is available in a plastic bottle with a dispenser. It comes with an instruction insert. The drug is produced in India by the Sun Pharmaceutical Industries brand.

The active ingredient of Coreprost is Bimatoprost, which is extracted from corals. Essentially, bimatoprost is an artificial analogue of a hormone called prostaglandin. The effect is achieved through the influence of the components included in the composition. They cause accelerated blood circulation, nourish the bulbs, and increase the speed of hair metabolic processes. As a result, the hairs become approximately 5 millimeters longer, thicker, and acquire a rich color shine. It has been confirmed that after applying the substance, even dormant eyelashes awaken. Careless use can lead to hair growth in areas of the face where there is absolutely no need for their presence.

Initially, eyelash growth serum was invented for medical use. Careprost is also considered an ophthalmic agent for lowering intraocular pressure.

Using the medicine exclusively in this direction, patients, and the doctors themselves, noticed that after the course of treatment, the condition of the eyelashes noticeably improved. Thus, hair growth was found to be a side effect of the drug. As a result, the drug gained great popularity, which spread far beyond India.

Careprost for glaucoma

Careprost is a product for eyelash growth. Review.

Hello, Takaya!
I want to share my discovery with you! If you are dissatisfied with your eyelashes, read the article!

We will talk about Careprost.

My friend recommended it to me. She had been using it for quite some time now and the results were visible in her expressive eyes. I immediately ordered this miracle product for myself via the Internet. On average, the price ranges from 500 to 1000 rubles. The box contains a bottle and a brush, the volume of the product is 3 ml.

Careprost eyelash growth product is manufactured in India by the pharmaceutical company Sun Pharmaceutical. It can be purchased through the website www.kareprost-sale.ru. The drug is based on the active ingredient bimatoprost. It affects the cyclic phase of eyelash growth, acting in two aspects: it increases the duration of the phase itself and directly the number of eyelashes in a given growth phase. Thus, the growth rate of eyelashes increases and their volume increases. 1 bottle is designed for 8-12 weeks of use.

On the website, the manufacturer promises thick and long eyelashes after 4-6 weeks of daily use. Let me tell you that this is really true. My eyelashes weren’t particularly long; they stuck out straight, so I had to curl them. But now a couple of strokes of mascara are enough, and the eyelashes rush to the eyebrows. I'm delighted with this effect. To do this, you need very little - apply it daily to the lash line of the upper eyelid every time before going to bed.

There are also side effects - redness of the eyes or pigmentation of the skin on the upper eyelid (where the drug is applied), but this passes. Personally, I have not had such problems.

From the editor...

After receiving this review, we decided to learn more about this product.
The Internet is replete with information that Careprost or Careprost is a medicine for glaucoma that has a side effect on eyelashes and eyebrows.
After reviewing this information, we sought advice from doctors about this drug.

Question: “What does official medicine believe - can this drug be used by women, will the substances contained in the drug cause harm, is there really a risk of changing eye color, can there be consequences for vision and what?”

Answered by Sergey Lvovich Branchevsky, General Director of the Branchevsky Eye Clinic. ophthalmologist of the highest qualification category, candidate of medical sciences, leading surgeon of the Clinic, member of the American and Russian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, freelance ophthalmologist quality expert in the Samara region. Personally performed more than 10,000 operations:

“The prostaglandin analogues contained in this drug are actually used in the treatment of glaucoma, and with many months of use, side effects have been noticed: eyelash growth and a change in the color of the iris (eyes), it becomes darker. On the outside of the retina, these drugs can cause swelling of the central part - the macula - although in rare cases. But this is already affecting vision and this is serious.

Whether beauty requires sacrifices, and what kind, is up to the women themselves to decide!”

Grow eyelashes, or return the irrevocable

Long thick eyelashes... Every eye movement takes on a special meaning, you are just a queen, always, even when you just woke up. A dream that needs to be fulfilled. That's exactly what I thought when I decided to get eyelash extensions.

“How to live with this nightmare now?” — was my first thought after the extensions were removed. I’ll tell you another time about how eyelash extensions are done in Kazan and what can be done to avoid disastrous results. Now - about how to grow eyelashes... More precisely, about whether they can be grown at all and whether all the products are good.

Before the extensions, I had good eyelashes, although they were pale and not very noticeable - this is a problem for all natural blondes. But overall they were long and quite thick. After the extension - exhausted, thin, broken, the upper ones became shorter than the lower ones.

The master promised that there would be enough castor oil, and my eyelashes would recover on their own in about 3 weeks. So…

Castor oil

Castor oil is cheap, easy to find, and it says on the bottle that it is a laxative. In general, it’s a good thing, but it’s useless for eyelashes. Neither after 3 weeks, nor after a month, nor even after two daily use at night, the eyelashes did not become better. Naturally, the broken, unsightly ends disappeared, since the eyelashes completely changed in two months, but they remained just as short, thin and weak. As before, to highlight the eyes, they had to be outlined with a pencil; there was too little mascara.

Vitamins

Of course, vitamins must be used in complex “therapy”; on their own, they are powerless. It was spring, it wasn’t a bad idea to take a multivitamin – and I did it. Then, after about a month, I drank special vitamins “for beauty.” This probably benefited the body, but it didn’t have any effect on the eyelashes.

I must say that my hair and skin in general are problem-free and healthy. I don’t know what exactly happened to the eyelashes, why they stopped growing. Perhaps the effect is the same: when eyelashes are accidentally burned or cut, they then grow longer and thicker. I had the opposite effect - once they were badly damaged and they remained short and weak.

After two months, I was completely desperate and was ready to do anything just to get back what I had before the extension. Literally everything. And that’s why I bought Careprost.

"Careprost", drops for glaucoma (prostaglandins)

Eyelash growth products based on prostaglandins have recently appeared on the Russian market; as a means for eyelash and hair growth, they have been little tested and are initially a cure for glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye disease, the main symptom of which is increased intraocular pressure and decreased vision. My vision is already low, myopia is high, and for a long time I constantly wore contact lenses. In general, I knew that it was better not to test the strength of sore eyes. But as I already said, I was ready for anything. Because my appearance without eyelashes was terrible (at least it seemed to me).

Prostaglandins are mammalian hormones with a wide range of physiological effects. They are part of such eyelash growth products as “AdvancedLash”, “Careprost” and others. The price of some of them reaches 4,500 rubles, the price of others is 1,500 – 2,000 per bottle. However, they act in the same way, the difference is that the expensive “AdvancedLash” is certified in Russia specifically as a product for eyelashes, while its cheaper competitors are not, they are simply sold via the Internet, are not advertised in the press, and in the Internet sphere there is still state control weaker than usual. Although in Russia we generally have big problems with the certification of cosmetics: AdvancedLash has had problems in America for a long time, the product is not currently sold there (although another analogue is sold).

"Careprost" is a small bottle, packed in a cardboard box with instructions in English, produced in India. I am fluent in English, I read the instructions and what is written on the box. It states in plain text that this is a medicine for glaucoma, describes side symptoms, etc. Among them: darkening of the iris, blurred vision, increased intraocular pressure and even blindness. Also included in the box is a brush, which should be used to apply the product along the eyelash growth. Its sellers claim that there are no side effects with this use.

I wanted eyelashes. And after a month they grew back and even darkened. Especially the outer edges of the eyes became simply gorgeous. After a month, my eyelashes became almost as they were before the extensions and continued to grow, thicken, and darken. Even two months later, when I had already stopped using Careprost, they continued to grow, and those around me began to claim with envy that I had grown eyelashes again (although, of course, they are still not like extensions, but natural). In total I managed to use half the bottle.

After half a bottle, one Monday morning, instead of going to work, I had to go to the Republican Ophthalmological Hospital on Butlerov Street. I began to develop severe conjunctivitis, which now occurs every time I put on lenses (new, clean, treated from the previous time). The hospital doctors said that prostaglandin products can do more than just that. All side effects of glaucoma drops appear not only when instilled into the eyes, but also when applied along the edge of eyelash growth - the product still gets into the eyes, albeit in small doses, but every day. Essentially, you put drops for a serious disease into healthy (or relatively healthy in my case) eyes, which are supposed to reduce intraocular pressure. The conclusion is obvious.

It has now been about 4 months since I stopped using Careprost. The luxury of eyelashes has diminished; long eyelashes at the outer edge of the eye are replaced by normal length ones. But overall, their appearance is much, very significantly better than it was before Careprost. He gave impetus to renewal. But I suffered several relapses of very severe conjunctivitis and cannot wear lenses.

Mavala Double Lash

This product is sold in any cosmetic store and is considered safe. At least enough people have tried it on themselves. According to the information on the packaging, it contains only natural ingredients that stimulate eyelash growth and does not contain hormones. It is relatively expensive (much more expensive than castor oil, but cheaper than prostaglandin preparations). I started using it after I had my eyes treated. Perhaps thanks to it, eyelashes are preserved almost at the “careprost” level. Or perhaps not. Its effect is not obvious. Now I just don’t want to lose my eyelashes, so I use any safe means.

And one more thing: I will never get eyelash extensions again. The choice is yours, eyelashes with extensions are, of course, very, very beautiful. But I made my choice for the rest of my life. I hope this article on my blog will help you draw certain conclusions.

Contraindications for Careprost

Careprost is recommended for use by persons with ciliary hypotrichosis - absence or insufficient number of eyelashes. And also having visually unsatisfactory length and thickness.

The solution is contraindicated for use on the lower eyelid, because this may cause excess hair growth outside the area of application. Apply only to the base of the upper lashes.

Careprost is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. There are not yet sufficiently rigorous studies regarding pregnant women, however, the benefits do not justify the potential risk to the fetus. Nursing mothers should also not use Careprost as many drugs are excreted in human milk.

Careprost solution can damage contact lenses, so before using the drug they must be removed and reinserted 15-30 minutes after the procedure.

Try to avoid getting eyelash growth product in your eyes. If the solution does get into the eyes, it is not harmful, since it was originally created as eye drops against glaucoma. However, the product may cause redness or itching if it comes into contact with the eyes.

If you suffer from increased intraocular pressure, or have had cases of disturbances in normal intraocular pressure, bimatoprost ophthalmic solution should be used with extreme caution.

When using other ophthalmic drugs to treat glaucoma, be careful as well. combination with careprost may be harmful.

Careprost as a remedy against hair loss (baldness)

You may have heard about the drug Careprost, which helps increase eyelash growth. Some doctors now recommend it for eyelash growth on the scalp as well. For some types of baldness, careprost can actually be useful.

Although the drug is officially contraindicated for use on scalp hair, it is considered safe as it is already recognized as safe for use in the eye area.

What is careprost?

Careprost is a product containing bimatoprost, a generic version of Latisse, first introduced as an ophthalmic solution for the treatment of glaucoma. When doctors noticed that Careprost had such an unusual side effect as increasing the growth of eyelashes and eyebrows, the developers began to study the drug specifically for this property. Bimatoprost was approved by the FDA in 2008 for use in eyelash extensions and is now the leading product on the market for this purpose.

Scientists are trying to create a similar remedy against hair loss on the head. At the same time, some doctors are already prescribing careprost as a drug for hair loss on the head. Bimatoprost will not have any effect on a large bald spot, but may be effective in cases of slow hair growth.

How to use careprost for scalp hair loss?

Careprost should be applied to clean scalp using the applicator included in the kit. All you need is a drop applied to the skin. It should only be used when necessary and avoid getting the solution on fingers or other parts of the body or on clothing. The product must be used daily and it may take 2 months to see results, so be patient.

Typically, this liquid does not cause side effects, however, if you experience redness or irritation of the scalp, you should stop taking the drug immediately.
