American and Austrian scientists have found that in such a dispersed and unfocused state, people have insights when they find answers to questions that previously tormented them. It can be assumed that some of these insights are generated in the form of verbal thoughts, and it is in this way that inner speech is associated with the state of passive brain function.

Little is known about the passive mode network yet, but we do know that it can be very important for constructing a sense of self, constructing mental maps of other people's minds, and developing a sense of time. That is, in addition to creative insights, it can also be responsible for existential abstractions.
